Abstract

Dementia processes, when associated with other comorbidities, may have a negative impact on nutritional status. This paper presents a case study conducted in January 2013 at a Mental Health Center in northern Portugal, aiming to understand the association between protein-energy malnutrition and dementia, using content analysis of the clinical record. Results suggest that transdisciplinary assessment and intervention led to positive outcomes and health gains.
